Oil walks on by capillarity in the wick and drips on the body to lubricate. The wick is out of cotton or wool with nontight long fibre. The rise of oil in a wool wick is 30 mm and for higher heights cotton is preferred. The wicks must be often cleaned or replaced.

	The flow depends on the height of the oil reserve and the section on the wick. The duration of drip is thus obtained by a choice of the huilor diameter.
